Meningococcal Vaccines refers to vaccines used to prevent infection by Neisseria meningitidis bacteria. It is a serious bacterial infection that can result in organ damage or death. Thus, early treatment is important and vaccination is a step towards prevention. Controlling epidemics of the disease depends on both antibiotics and vaccination. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends meningococcal vaccines for both children and adults who are at increased risk for meningococcal disease.

The vaccine protect against the disease, which can lead to bacterial meningitis and other serious infections. Children ages 11 through 12 years should receive Meningococcal Vaccines followed by a booster dose at age 16 years. It is also recommended for all children aged 13 to 18 who did not receive a dose by age 11-12. Teens and young adults (aged 16 to 23 years old) may also get a MenB vaccine. A MenB vaccine protect people against infection by meningococcal group B bacteria, responsible for about 9 in every 10 meningococcal infections in children.

Meningococcal Vaccines Market are used to prevent diseases such as meningococcemia, meningitis, and septicemia caused due to Neisseria meningitidis. Several meningococcal serogroups have been identified, such as A, B, C, Y, and W-135. These serogroups are the most prominent ones causing meningococcal infection. Neisseria meningitidis can be classified into 12 serogroups based on its capsular polysaccharide; serogroups A, B, C, W, X, and Y are the primary causes of meningococcal disease worldwide.

Meningococcal ACWY vaccine protect against meningococcal disease caused by serogroups A, C, W, and Y. While meningococcal B vaccines protect against serogroup B meningococcal disease. Two types of Meningococcal Vaccines are available in the U.S., such as Meningococcal conjugate or MenACWY vaccines (MenQuadfi, Menveo, and Menactra) and MenB vaccines or Serogroup B meningococcal vaccine (Bexsero and Trumenba).
